About Laurie Stalker Jackson
Hi, I'm Laurie!
I am a ritualist, embodiment guide, and former somatic therapist (2015-2025). The alignment of my gifts and my sacred work are fierce devotion to reverence, the vulnerability of intimacy with life, holding all beings in their sovereignty and dignity, and wonder of embodied consciousness and this living world. I value reciprocity, heart, resonant presence, and imperfection,
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Transforming Touch Practitioner, and Safe and Sound Protocol Provider and have worked as a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist since 2007 and as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2015, supporting clients with attachment repair and healing from developmental and shock trauma.
My approach is grounded in somatic therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, ritual, and co-regulating touch interventions, and I consider my role as one of radical accompaniment to support clients’ development through initiation and grief, and ultimately restoring aliveness, wonder, and belonging through remembering embeddedness in the web of life.
I work through a decolonial and animist lens, acknowledging systems of domination and supremacy as sources of developmental trauma and unwellness and regarding relationships with both humans and other-than humans as nourishing for healthy relating and belonging.
Identity and Values
My ancestors were from Slovakia, Ireland, Scotland, England, and Germany. As a white-bodied descendant of colonial-settlers to Turtle Island, I have benefitted from hundreds of years of colonization. I carry the complexity of cultural reckoning and repair alongside the devotion to secure relating and reciprocity with land, grief, ancestors, and the Sacred.
I am a fat, cis-woman living in hetero-married privilege, and also a bisexual, menopausal, neurodivergent queer with layers of chronic health issues associated with autoimmunity and syndromal patterns.
I am a student of the decolonial movement in learning and mentorship with Dra. Rocio Rosales-Meza 2021-2024, unlearning white colonial conditioning alongside healing with my own precolonial ancestors. I am committed to not replicating systems of domination in my work with clients as well as my own personal life. (See "Learning Lineage "below).
I regularly meet with a white-bodied affinity group to explore and address ways I am still embodying and complicit in supremacy culture.
This is lifelong and life-affirming work for me.
I currently live, work, and tend relationships on the ancestral lands of the Anigiduwagi (Cherokee) people in Asheville, NC.
